The brilliant work of this female cicada killer as she digs an underground hideaway for her future offspring has nothing to do with my voiceover in the video. I was talking on the phone to a friend about the straw poll in Ames on August 13, 2011 at the same time this mighty insect woman powered her way into the earth. A member of my family was going to stomp on her, but I explained that this amazing insect should be respected- not crushed.
Wouldn't we admire this kind of work ethic in any other neighbor on the block?
