THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT
It's curious how
a phone ringing-
answered
as if on cue
or a phone call
replaced instead
by a nap,
a movie,
or some other
diversionary song and dance
can re-route
the direction
of an eager heart.
How many
promising propositions
failed to fornicate
because the wings of
a forgotten promise
closed the possibility?
